After a lot of pressure on the government to reveal the names of the people who have stashed billions of rupees of black money in Swiss banks, Tehelka, the once famous Indian media house has claimed to have an access to the names of the people involved in this crime. In all they have 16 out of the 18 names with them, and they have revealed these names on their website. This is going to be the breaking news of the day.
Though why the government choose to stay mum on this issue for quite some time is a big question, the names that are revealed by tehelka are not at all familiar to common. It is unbelievable that 18 people could stash away 65 lakh crore rupees of black money between themselves without a hint to the law enforcement authorities. Also, it is hard to digest the fact that the list does not include any of the current or previous politician/minister who have turned from rags to riches without playing the “who wants to be the millionaire” or the super lotto. Of course, there can be fronts, but still, I would expect some familiar name. Is it one of the three which are not yet revealed?
Whatever it is, it’s a start. I hope tehelka goes one like this and reveals all the names, instead of using the unethical ways used by media to fire up their news/ratings.
On second thought, will this revelation give some head start to these people so that they cover all fronts before the enquiry begins?
