The J7 and the J5 run on the out dated Qualcomm 615 and 410 snapdragon chipset with octacore A53 and quadcore A53 processors respectively. Both pack 1.5 GB RAM. Though nothing much to boast about, the phones are placed at a very strategic price point. You wont be able to get a quality phone at his price point which has as 5.5 inch(J7) or 5 inch(J5) superamoled screen(gsmarena.com lists it as TFT capacitive touch screen whereas flipkart lists a super amoled one. But samsung website lists super amoled so we go by that. The phone would be lucrative, had it not been samsung’s nature to blot their phones with the heavy touchwiz. 1.5 GB RAM may not be very much after all. Still its more than motorola Moto G which sells for 9999 at this moment.
Both phones have a 720p display which is adequate for this price. The presence of NFC makes not much difference in Indian context. LTE(4g) is standard with dual sim standby(LTE + GSM).
The USP for this phones will be the 13 MP rear shooter and the 5 MP front shooter. If marketed properly, it could be the next galaxy grand duos for India.
The battery of 3000 mAh and 2600 mAh in J7 and J5 respectively should be able to see you through the day with medium usage.
Head over to flipkart for pre-ordering the phone if you are interested either the J7 or the J5.
